Melbourne Airport Lounges

The Air New Zealand Koru Club Lounge was opened in 2006 and is very different to what you might expect in most airline lounges. Weatherboard walls, a mock veranda, 42 Below and other kiwi products available and welcoming staff will make you feel like you’ve entered a friend’s lounge at home. Outfitted with different zones boasting tempting names like ‘Replenish,’ ‘Relax’ and ‘Refresh,’ the lounge offers food, drinks, TVs, books, magazines, showers, a kids’ room, business centre, internet access and more. A wonderful place to wait for a flight! The Koru Club is open to Air New Zealand Koru Club members, Star Alliance Gold members and Business Premier passengers on an Air New Zealand flight.

The Qantas Club is on the first floor of Terminal 1, after customs. It is available for use by all Qantas Club members, Gold and Platinum Qantas Frequent Flyers, and Sapphire or Emerald Oneworld members. First or Business Class passengers can also access the lounge if connecting from an Emirates or Qantas flight that day. Open from 5am until the last Qantas departure, it has food and drinks available, as well as bathroom facilities, internet access both wireless and via the lounge PCs, and plenty of entertainment to enjoy in comfort before you depart.

Qantas also has an International lounge in Terminal 2. Passengers with a First or Business class ticket for travel with Qantas or Emirates that day can access the lounge, as well as Platinum or Gold frequent flyers and Qantas Club members, Emirates Platinum or Gold Skywards members and Emerald or Sapphire Oneworld members on oneworld operated flights. It has all the same features as the domestic lounge and is a haven for weary international travellers.

The Virgin Lounge is on the mezzanine floor of Terminal 3, landside. It is open from 5:15am until the airline’s last flight and provides a refuge for travellers. It is open to lounge members or Velocity Platinum or Gold members travelling on onward domestic flights with Virgin Australia. With separate menus for morning, midday and evening, barista coffee and alcohol available after 1pm, there is plenty to keep you fueled and refreshed. There are also bathroom and entertainment facilities and comfortable seating to relax and maybe even have a snooze before your onward flight.

Regional Express Airlines, or REX, has a lounge with the entrance on the ground floor of Terminal 3 before security screening. Rex lounge members only can access it, and it offers WiFi, seating, massage chairs, wine from 3pm, and a Business Centre. The lounge is accessible by an access code and fingerprint scan.

Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong’s flag-carrier, also has a lounge at Melbourne Airport. This opens for 3 hours before each flight to provide bathrooms, food and drinks, internet access both wireless and via PCs and a quiet place to relax. Business Class passengers are able to use the lounge prior to flying. The lounge can be found on the first floor of Terminal 2.

Malaysia Airlines has a comfortable and quiet lounge at Melbourne Airport, on the first floor of Terminal 2.
